Dr. Godfrey Maronga
Dr. Godfrey Maronga is a Restorative Dentist- a dental specialist who deals with restoring teeth to normal shape and function and enhance the aesthetics where this is desired. The specific areas of restorative dentistry that he specializes in include aesthetic dental fillings, root canal treatments, crowns and bridges, veneers, tooth whitening, implants and dentures.
Dr. Maronga graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Nairobi (UoN) in 2009 and practiced as a General Practitioner (GP) in government, private and faith-based organizations for seven years. During this time, he had a vast experience in the fields of general dental surgery (extractions, disimpactions, minor oral surgery), children’s dentistry, management of gum diseases and orthodontics (tooth alignment). He still practices these, alongside advanced restorative dentistry.
Dr. Maronga thereafter proceeded to South Africa, University of the Western Cape where he pursued a full-time Master of Science degree in Restorative Dentistry for three years (between 2017-2019). He graduated top of his class and relocated back to Kenya in 2020. Besides seeing his patients with love from Smiledent Dental Centre Nakuru, he is also a visiting consultant at the Dental Unit in Lions Eye Hospital in Loresho, Nairobi.
Dr. Maronga also teaches in continuing education courses through his continuing education platform OM Arte Dentistry Ltd. He is also a faculty member of the Dental Aptitude College, a tertiary education college focusing on continuing education for dental professionals.
Dr. Maronga is an active member of the Kenya Dental Association (KDA), the International team for Implantology (ITI) and the International Association of Dental Research (IADR). He participates actively in research and has various publications in both local and international journals.
When not practicing dentistry, teaching or researching, Dr. Maronga likes to spend time with his wife and children.
Agatha Mumo
Agatha is the force that works behind the scenes to ensure the business aspects of the practice are taken care of. Agatha is soft-spoken but a firm person who ensures the work gets done. A counselling psychologist by training, she is an ardent believer in the ability of people to achieve their full potential, given the right tools and skills.
When she is not managing the affairs of the practice.
She runs her counselling centre and child protection consultancy practice that is based in the same premises as Smiledent Dental Centre. Her hobbies are reading, travelling and spending quality time with family.
Salome Wangari
Salome is the first person you will meet when you visit our practice. She would also most likely be the voice on the other side of the phone when you call. A pleasant and warm personality, Salome holds a diploma in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Management. She likes to put her administrative skills to work to ensure smooth running of the practice.
“It brings me joy when our clients leave our practice with a smile on their faces. It gives me more reason to be glad that I am part of the team that makes it happen”, she says.
When not attending to her duties at smiledent dental centre, Salome loves to travel and read novels.
Grace Wanjiru Mwangi
Grace, a jolly character, is the extra pair of hands that ensures our treatments are done efficiently and safely. From sterilizing our instruments to setting up for the procedures, showing the patients into the treatment rooms to ensuring the patient is comfortable throughout the dental procedure, her duties revolve around working directly with the dental surgeon.
Besides her training in dental surgery assisting, Grace holds a diploma in Cooperative Management.

When she is not working at Smiledent Dental Centre, she spends her time swimming, reading and watching movies.
